I first met Queen in 1973 when I was working for Mott
The Hoople who Queen were support to on a UK tour. It was their
first big break: "They'll never make it" I seem to recall
thinking and saying.
I was wrong about that.
I worked as Freddie and John's roadie and subsequently
became head of the Queen crew while still doing my original role
- and several others that came up as well...
Please enjoy my memories and please note, I do sometimes
sell some of my spare passes and unwanted memorabila on ebay. Keep
a look out - my stuff is always listed using the words 'Queen' and
'Best Provenance'or 'Top Provenance'.
A note on buying Queen memorabilia:
Please be very careful, especially on ebay, as so much stuff is
fake or forged. Any individual or dealer who repeatedly offers 'genuine
laminated passes' or items with a 'certificate of authenticity'
is selling something they made themselves - not original, not acceptable
and these people are simply crooks - a disgrace! Ask for the provenance
of an item, the history and where it came from. If you are not satisfied
- don't bid or buy it. See my different sections for tips on avoiding
the fakes.
